Let’s be kids again

We’ll play together one day soon

Breathe in the fresh cut grass,

Rolling down the hill.

Laughing uncontrollably.

Lay down in the fields,

Feel the sun on our face.

Turn to each other,

Bright smile gleaming.

Focus on the pitcher’s mound,

“Hey batter, batter”

The pitch, SWING *POCK*

Run as fast as you can,

You belong Home.

“SAFE!”

You’re a winner,

I always knew you could.

Skipping; right foot, left foot,

1, 2, 3, hop both feet on 4 and 5.

Chalk smears on our feet, land on 10.

Ropes slapping the pavement,

“Ready, set, go”

Run and Jump In.

Keep the rhythm,

Stay in tune.

Overthink,

FAIL.

Save her,

“I’m fine”

She‘s strong,

See through my eyes.

To be a kid with you once more,

We were pretty, pretty naive.

Kid or adult, it does not matter.

You’re now traveling the stars;

Wormhole, Nebulae, elusive Quasar.

Sights barely imaginable,

Noteworthy dreams.

We can still be kids again,

Just close your eyes and breathe in.

I feel a lot. At the early age I was encouraged by an English teacher to enter in a writing contest. To my surprise, I was well received. I was hooked.📓
